Always tidying is a great rule of thumb. I just take a quick look around and say "this doesn't belong here" and take it where it does belong...or at least I get it closer to where it does belong. A little bit at a time works!

At the time this blog post was originally written - about two years ago - my information on the product ingredients was current, and while I may be wrong, I'm pretty sure I pulled it directly from S.C. Johnson's site. Unfortunately, as I've reposted it on the new site, it seems I've neglected to recheck my facts, and for this I apologize. However, a little research on 2-Hexoxyethanol has led me to the National Library of Medicine HSDB Database which tells me that 2-Hexoxyethanol "SHOULD BE HANDLED WITH GREAT CARE TO PREVENT EYE CONTACT & TO AVOID SKIN CONTACT BECAUSE OF ITS TOXICITY BY ABSORPTION. UNTIL MORE IS KNOWN IT WOULD SEEM WISE ALSO TO AVOID REPEATED EXPOSURE TO ITS VAPORS." I looked into the two other ingredients you mentioned in Scrubbing Bubbles and didn't see anything too terrifying - just mild skin and respiratory irritations (unless the exposure was to a particularly high concentration, in which case you may be able to expect central nervous system impairment or narcosis). Props to S. C. Johnson for trying to make improvements, but I'm still much happier without them.

I don't know where you get your information from but you are wrong about the ingredients in Windex and Scrubbing bubbles. Neither of the products contain 2-butoxyethanol. Look at the website www.whatsinsidescjohnson.com. They do contain other glycol ethers and probably did contain butyl cellosolve (2-butoxyethanol) at one time. Closest ingredient in Windex is 2-Hexoxyethanol while Scrubbing Bubbles has Dipropylene Glycol Butyl Ether, Dipropylene Glycol Propyl Ether. Nice alternatives to 2-butoxyethanol (right!!).
